Austin Carrington is a 16 year old high school junior who has traveled a number of places in the world and is joining One Step Ahead Parenting in June 2010 as a contributing author.  She has developed a passion for understanding the brain and has a strong interest in examining moral values, how they develop and how to deal with conflicting pulls when contrasting morals are confronted. It is Austin’s plan to pursue her interest in philosophy and neuropsychology in college.  Next year she will take her first course in psychology.

We are pleased to have Austin join us as an important contributor speaking for teens and helping parents to hear and understand the teen thinking, feelings and concerns.  Her first article posted here, Top 10 Mistakes Parents Make When Communicating With Their Teens, is an important piece that we hope will inspire parents to comment.  Please support Austin’s timely and relevant contributions by getting into the conversation.

Austin is a contributing author to my upcoming book, Facebook, Teens, Parents .  In this book you will hear more from Austin about how she and her parents have used Facebook as an important platform from which significant conversations have grown.
